“采得百花成蜜后，为谁辛苦为谁甜”。蜜蜂用吻舐吸花蜜，采完一朵接着再采另一朵花。蜜蜂每次采蜜，往往要采成百上千朵花才能把蜜囊装满。花蜜主要是植物分泌的甜性物质，约含有60%-80%的水分，蜜蜂把花蜜酿成蜂蜜，需要经过蜜蜂反复的酝酿、唾液的转化、酶的促进，并且排除其中过多水分后方可称为蜂蜜。
写一篇好的新闻报道也如蜜蜂酝蜜一样，要经历“采”、“酝”、“排”三个过程：
采：就是深入采访，大量掌握第一手资料。“没有调查，就没有发言权”。采访是以新闻事实为对象、以新闻报道为目的的一种专业性极强的调查研究。写新闻报道时，要到现场去、到群众中去、深入基层一线，多采访人、多从不同侧面、不同渠道占有素材；不但要“身入”，还要“心入”，见微知著，顺藤摸瓜，用灵敏“新闻鼻”，更深层次去了解新闻背后的新闻，去挖掘更多有价纸的“新闻眼”。
采访如同挖井，挖得深，清甜井水自然流出。切实不可浅尝而止，半途而废。
酝：就是运笔过程，指文章构思。写新闻报道时要谋篇布局，做到结构严谨，条理清晰，层次分明。由于新闻是“缘事而发，淡中有味”。它讲求一定的文采，又要以从群众语言中汲取营养。
这就要求我们做到：叙事突出动感、描绘富有美感、修辞强调实感。
“今天的新闻是金子，昨天的新闻是银子，前天的新闻是垃圾”。新闻讲求快、讲求时效。在“采”和“酝”过程中要做到自然衔接、做到“倚马可待”。要在采访技巧上下一番功夫，练就一种边收集材料、边整理材料、边思考写作主题、边列出写作提纲的本领。
排：就是排除水分和化繁为简。真实是新闻的第一生命。用事实说话，是什么就是什么，不可夸张或随意涅造；简炼，是新闻语言一个特征。法国《红与黑》的作者斯汤达说，“我认为写作只有一个规则：思路清晰，文字简练。字用得越少越好，能用一个字表达，不用两个字；能删除的字，一定要删除；在写作时要说短话，写短句。
不用过剩的抒情句，不用过多的形容词，不用不恰当的比喻和警句；在结构上，要强调简捷直叙，少曲折迂回，尤其忌讳语言杂质，不要让复杂的结构和修辞手段、表情语言淹没事实。
普利策说过一句名言“懒人是当不了记者的”。我们在写新闻报道时要腿勤、脑勤、手勤、嘴勤。
